CCIQ reveals key initiative behind Collaborate program
Federal Assistant Minister for Innovation Wyatt Roy will attend the official launch of Collaborate, an Australian first, which sees CCIQ and BlueChilli join forces to create a unique accelerator designed to build businesses focused on solving the problems of business.
The Brisbane event, on Tuesday December 8, will also elaborate more on an exclusive campaign, which will be one of the key initiatives behind the Collaborate program.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland CEO Stephen Tait said Mr Roy, Member for Longman, had been briefed on Collaborate and was keen to be in his home state for the launch of the program.
“Wyatt Roy has heard about the Australian-first that is Collaborate and our campaign that will be driving the initiative and wants to be a part of the launch in Brisbane, as he is committed to Queensland leading the charge for innovation, creative thinking and problem solving,” Mr Tait said.
“This is an opportunity for people interested in Collaborate to learn about our campaign, to meet with Wyatt Roy, Assistant Minister for Innovation, and hear from two start-ups who will pitch their ideas after successfully being accelerated by BlueChilli.”
Launched as a direct response to the challenges facing businesses, Collaborate will offer free-of-charge residency, access to programs, resources, mentors and opportunities to businesses who can meet those challenges.
CCIQ and its partners will soon launch a call for businesses which can meet the challenges faced by small business.
“We want businesses to come forward, who can meet those challenges head on and develop, create or adapt products and services that will aid the productivity, profitability and sustainability of small businesses,” Mr Tait said.
The December 8 event at Spring Hill, where Collaborate will be based, will hear an overview of the Collaborate program and the associated campaign, and from Assistant Minister Roy on innovation and the importance of Collaborate.
